Can you email me the thing too so I can replace the pcv elbow. I've jut been driving like this nonstop since july..

And everytime I turn my steering wheel the engine seems to calm down for like 3 seconds and then begins pounding again.

You won't be experiencing the PCV problems since the V8 does not have a PCV elbow. The catalytic converter also will not cause these diagnostic codes, you need to be looking for air entering the system after the MAF sensor. Since you get codes for both banks, chances are the vacuum leak is in the intake somewhere that would effect both banks.

Please confirm that you are getting both P0171 and P0174.

If there's a misfire , it will throw a DTC!
The ''Rattle'', you might have a bad secondary cam chain Tensioner.

The file is on its way. As for a service manual, you can order the factory service manual from Helm Inc. or subscribe to AlldataDIY.com for your vehicle. The Alldata information is the same as the factory service manual but a lot more reasonably priced unless you plan to own your car for about 15 years.

1) Put a tourniqute on the Inake port were the pcv crankcase tube is connected to the intake.
2) Remove old rubber crankcase tube.
3) Use a new rubber crankcase tube with an external PCV filter, you can buy both at any local Auto Parts store.

$40 for a rubber crankcase PCV tube!

How much doe's Lincoln LS charge for this service?

I don't understand your suggestion. The PCV elbow is buried enough that you're not going to get it off and definitely won't get hoses connected to it without taking off the upper and lower intakes. By the time you get that far, installing the $25 part isn't too bad. The space is pretty tight so you'd need to use two elbows to remotely install a filter on the PCV system and it seems you'd just be adding more rubber pieces that can deteriorate and cause issues.

Once you remove the Intake, you can put a tourniquet on the pcv port of Intake, so unmetered air won't leak, causing lean codes.

There's no PCV oil breaking down the rubber going to the Intake, it's just Intake Air.

I don't know if oil breaks down the rubber or not. However, I do know that this statement is false.

Air enters the crankcase via a hose connection in front of the throttle. Some blow-by is added to it. The air is sucked out of the crankcase via the hose with the PCV valve that we are talking about. This goes into the intake, but it is not clean intake air. It is air with blow-by and oil vapors in it.

Not if there's air leaking through a bad crankcase tube.

It's nothing unusual for old school, race cars, Auto technicians to go with an external PCV filter system.

Who wants to contaminate your Intake with PCV emission,
