Bond.....James Bond!!!
Bond.....James Bond!!!
Well just watched the now bond movie and Its prety cool. It is a little bit different from the norm but still interesting. And john Clease is an awesome Q. Could not get better replacement. The begining was definitevelly weird for a Bond Movie. What did you Guys think of it?

Clease is Q? cool
Its the 20th movie, so I might have to make the effort of going to see it. Scary to think they can come up with 20 ideas, and still be succesful.

And several of the plotlines of Bond movies mirror the plots of previous movies....Same 'Evil Tyrant Industrialist Wants to Take Over The World' or 'Nasty Foreigner Wants To Destroy Western Civilisation'..... Still, as long as it has the usual mix of Bondschlock,I'll go see it... |

Yes but to be able to regertate those same plots lines 20 times and not have them go totaly stale shows there must be some real unique brillance behind the concept.

I was disspaointed with it. As just a movie I would give it 5 out of 10, but as a Bond movie, it gets a 4. What was witgh the music in the beginning? That wasn't Bond music, and they never show actual scenes in the beginning while the song is playing. It's always just images and floating naked ladies. Cleese did make a good Q, and there was that one scene where they were in the workshop and he had all the old Bond gadgets there that was pretty cool. The whole movie seemed like a big commercial to me too. And why did the bad guy have a button that electrocuted himself right in the middle of the chest of his robo-cop costume? I could keep going for a while, but my breakfast is ready.

*****SPOILER ALERT********************
If you haven't seen the movie yet, you might want to skip this post! That's right, Cleese is "R", and he is really good. I agree about the beginning part, it was waay too dark for a Bond movie. I don't go to Bond movies to see drama, I go to see light-hearted action, clever wisecracks, and cool cars and gadgets. The sexual innuendo was more blantant in this one than I've ever seen in a Bond. It was wierd that that electrocution gadget only hurt the victim until the last time when it hit the guy wearing it. And it was sort of lame how that light beam was blowing up tanks and buildings like no tomorrow but the plane flew through it and came out the other side still in one piece, and then took like 5 minutes to actually crash. But Halle Barry was pretty good, and the swordfighting scene at the club was sweet. |
