Al's recommendations are awesome.
Has anyone actually went and checked out a book Al has suggested? I have, some books have been really helpful. Although I'm still unable to find a copy of The popular "How to draw cars like a Pro' by Thom Taylor. Bleck! bloody perth and it's non artistic community! Anyway, I'm just talking crap now. castback, how much did you get your copy of it for? Over here it is $35.75. Which is about $25.00 in American dollars.
Fair price? Too expensive? cheap?

Do they ship to OZ? Here are the headlights. If anyone gets tired of seeing this thread let me know I will close it and keep it closed untill I finish this darn car and not post anymore progress images. Took photos for the head light tutorial, if anyone cares. It is really not that hard the main secrete weapons are the tuff stuff eraser (can be bought at art stores and office supply stores). http://www.dickblick.com/zz215/35/pr...m=0&ig_id=4368 I use my X-acto knife to cut it to a flat top w/ very sharp edges. Blu-tack (we have this stuff like this in the U.S. but Blu-tack is tackier and used by professional graphite artists like Armin, Mike Sibley, and Matti, those guys hang out at artpapa.com) http://www.sibleyfineart.com (look to the right scroll down some) I also use stumps to blend. If anyone is still interested I can assemble my tutorial for the headlights. The basic thing is to plan where your highlights will go and try and sketch everything around them. I then come back in w/ those erasers to bring the highlights out. I then will sketch and blend some more. Finally I will do the highlights again. If you mess up there are these metal stencil plates (kind of small) that you place on your drawing and then dab w/ your blu-tack or knead eraser. The stincil will keep you from eraser parts you don't want to erase. http://www.dickblick.com/zz229/50/pr...m=0&ig_id=1352 I cannot stress it enough to constantly look at your ref. study it, know it. Talk to your self when drawing say, "This line goes here and then here and yadda yadda yadda." Look at the spacing between the lines you have drawn and the current line you are drawing, the negative spacing. ***I posted links to dickblick but that doesn't mean I buy stuff from them. I get my stuff from my local artstore*** Alfred |

Amazing. Amazing. Amazing.
I would love to see a tutorial on the headlights. I always struggle with realistic looking headlights.
