Passed on 04 Viper

After a lot of research about the heat build up in the 04 Viper I passed on a good deal for a new one. I will wait until Dodge fixes this flaw. Living in Florida I do not need any more heat! I plan to keep my 01 GTS anyway and find it a great all around Gen2 Viper.

Re: Passed on 04 Viper

the heat build up was a problem on the 03 my friend.. and it was on the 03 concepts. there was a lot of insulation installed in the sills to downsize the heat that gets into the "cockpit".. but you have to realize that any car with side pipes is going to have heat problems.

Re: Passed on 04 Viper

Hey Flip 55 I broke down and bought a silver 04 SRT-10 afterall. Its much improved over my 01 GTS which I still own. However, I am looking seriously at the 04 MB SL600 with the V12. Why? 0-60 under 4 sec. Think of it as a Viper with Breeding!

Samurai. I'm gonna have to disagree with you on this one. The SVS package is way more streetable, and reliable. And when you go with SVS you KNOW for a fact you're getting what you've payed for. Look up information on John Hennessey on any forum and you will not find anything good. I loved the 650R's back in the day b4 john's reputation got tarnished.. that's y I started w/ my sn of venom in my veins.. but I've become sick to my stomach hearing about all the people he's ripped off. Go to the viper club forums, and then just go to google and type "john hennessey crook" and see what you come up with. It's absurd.

SVS has the Stryker TT 1023hp and like 1123ft-lbs of torque... it has a great boost controller that creates streetable horsepower. Check into it at supervipersystems.com

Re: Passed on 04 Viper

Pretty amazing that they're trying for 1200hp outta the next svs. They're going for the fastest tuner car record I believe. Pretty unbelievable if you ask me.

Re: Passed on 04 Viper

Samurai.. you have to realize something though. A skyline is what? AWD right? that means that it's got GREAT acceleration, but shit for top end. I'll bet a 1500hp skyline could barely top 220-230... the current viper record holder is the SVS Stryker at 256mph.. and with 200 more hp, I'll bet it's possible to get 265+mph.
