It does take some practice to get used to them but they are worth the wait. I have found that using them has helped me develop a much steadier hand.

maybe that's a good idea

Ok fellas,

I'm callin this thing done. I hit just a couple hot spots and duplicated my reflection layer. I then put it's mode to multiply and adjusted it's opacity to about 40. It just helped punch it some more.

Next time I'll skip the drawing stuff and we'll talk color specifics if you like.

Thanks for stickin with this. It was fun.

Re: skyline??

very nice cartoon car. very well done.

the thing about tracing is that if you cannot draw anyway, you cannot make a tracing look any good, whether it is from a photo or sketch.

so to all purists, whomever you are out there on this
thread or not, get over it. tracing doesn't mean a
d.amn thing. norman rockwell directly projected photographs of subjects that he himself took. and i can guarantee that very few, if any, human beings can create the renderings in oil that he did. that is because he could already draw without having to trace.

tracing is efficient, and, in commercial deadlines, is necessary. even renaissance artists pounced (traced) chalk through holes in paper to transfer drawings onto ceilings and walls. i condone all tracing freely and openly, from photographs taken by others, from sketches, from anything. if you cannot draw, you cannot trace worth a d.amn.
