That's very nice! I'm normally plenty pleased with scans of an article, but that looks like one I'd like in the physical library. I'll have to go looking for a copy.

I'm surprised Hurstg01 hasn't posted his scan of Octane's recent magazine.
I'll give him a chance, but if he doesn't soon, I'll put it up. |

Thanks!!! I'll take my chances with them as it would probably be a while before a copy comes along on Ebay.
EDIT: Ordered it Thanks again! Found another item in their inventory that I was unable to resist having too, however its not F1 related. http://www.albaco.com/store/product....8&cat=0&page=1 >8^) ER |

Nice little piece on Gordon out of a South African newspaper in 2008 with XP3, of course:

Re: The truly great scan thread started by Sauc3
From the attic at my parents place. Performance Car is the predecessor of EVO, if you like. As fantastic then, as EVO is now and has been from day one. Performance Car really got me hooked on cars and car magazines. A pity I didn't buy them every month back then. I couldn't find any more in the stacks that I rediscovered. But I'm keeping my fingers crossed that I missed a few boxes (with first few years of EVO too) .
This was quite an article (issue April 1998). Or actually there are two. First one is the group testing, 2nd one an interview with Murray on his views on (addiction to ) light weight. I believe it was noticed with an earlier scan here on AF, but in the article Murray already mentions his City Car concept (98!). But the beauty is that he says: "I've had a City Car concept in my head for 15 years or so." Not trying to say that he is slow or anything, but it is an interesting part of the article and the time-span shows that it always a tremendous endeavour to start a car company/produce a new car/model. I'd say that now the timing couldn't be more right for Murray's creation The smart has paved the way and so have the more stringent regulations, the traffic jams and the fuel consumption dilemma. Enjoy! "The Light Stuff" And the interview with Murray: "Light at the end of the tunnel?" Last edited by bucciali; 10-30-2010 at 01:52 PM. Reason: issue details |

That's quite excellent - congrats!!
I can't believe they took all those pictures and failed to include a shot of the chassis plate. It must have been intentional. >8^) ER |
