Afmoty 2013?
Will this be the first year without one?

Re: Afmoty 2013?
It's never too late.
Usually the rule is to have the model finished by 31st of December at midnight. There sure must be some models that have been finished this year. ;-) |

This would not be the latest it's been done. I seem to remember one year recently, entries didn't start until New Year's.

Re: Afmoty 2013?
The interest in the contest has been diminishing year after year, and as an organizer for the past few years I was waiting for some interest this year to judge whether we should even bother with the event. I got nothing until right now, not even a mention. So, how many entries would we get this year?
Year after year, we have literally hundreds of folks asking to put on an event, and pledging they will be entering, then we get about 20-25 entries, and have to BEG people to vote time and time again. It takes a lot of time and a commitment from organizers, vote counters, sponsors. To be honest, I just don't have a desire to devote this time and effort to it if we are to get the same participation. Open to discussion. Merry Christmas to all!

Re: Afmoty 2013?
I personaly think we should not judge AFMOTY relevance only through number of entries, quality of them was really high last years and choices difficult.
I think it won't be fair to cancel the contest and eliminate the ones able and willing to participate only because some of us think relevance should be judge through quantity more than quality... (whereas I understand frustration of organizers having to claim for entries and vote regarding time given to it) 25 superb models is enough to me ! that's my opinion, unfortunately from a member having nothing to enter ! |

Re: Afmoty 2013?
Not sure about anyone else, but I actually have something that I completed this year. I have it ready to enter when the word is given.
It surprises me, when watching the completed forum, how many great builds there are, and yet we still have trouble finding participants. Maybe an announcement across all forums and not just this one would drum up some interest? It`s a shame. Seeing all the incredible work around the end of the year is something I`ve been looking forward too for the past 11-12 years. |

Re: Afmoty 2013?
Must there be prizes? Honour should be enough, even though it has been a tremendous effort of those arranging AFMOTY getting prizes together every year.
I can take part in vote counting i necessary. I've been away for some years but have always found the AFMOTY special. A bit off topic but I think a sticky with every years winner would be a good idea! |

Notice how nobody offered help with organization yet.
