Re: 5.3L replacement vs. rebuild
I own a 2005 Chevy crew cab with over 260k and just replaced the starter for the first time since I purchased it new. I'm very impressed about the dependability and still can get on the highway at least 80. I hope to get one more year before I replace / rebuild the engine and rebuild the tranny. I trying to decide which are the better heads to go with? The engine is running with 799s. Any help is welcome.

Re: 5.3L replacement vs. rebuild
I'm not sure about Augusta but a big engine rebuilder in Decatur Ga. went out of business and some local machine shops.
