Re: rb25det in an s13
actually you didn't really answer my question musicsurfman. I was asking about the RB25det not the RB20. So there a differance.

Re: rb25det in an s13
No ,there Isn't A Difference. Its The Same Motor Design With The Same Emission Requirements, And Technicly The Same Ecu Controls..... Its Going To Pass Just As Easily As The Rb20 Did.

LOL all these guys are funni fu#ks, im doin 25det conv into s13 down under, you need the wiring loom from 33sky altered, or stagea, if you are using rb20 gearbox and have manual box in our car then u can use the tailshaft, you will need bigger radiator, thermo fans, r32 xmember or r33 non turbo xmember, and thats bout it, simple take out put new on e in, if ure using rb25 box its bit more complicated coz u need custom tailshaft and box mount and shit but otherwise its east. 300hp should be bout the reliable power u can run throught it everyday, even up to 400 but it must be tuned properly otherwise it wont last. i got a mate with only rb20 runnin 380hp on stock internals, and another with 317hp with a ca18det stock inards in 180sx. it mostly comes down to tuning and the overall condition of your purchased engine. |

Re: rb25det in an s13
I too want to swap an RB25 into my s13. I'm doing all the research first. I've priced out the front clip and everything to successfully complete the swap. I'm going to be moving to California in about 3 months after the Air force gives me the boot on a medical discharge. Atleast they are givig me a nice PHAT check for troubles. I really only have one concern. I have no clue how to get the RB25 to pass emissions. I was thinking about running 2 catalytic converters to lower the emissions.
Doe's anyone have personal knowledge of an S13 running an RB25 in Cali? If you do and it's legal, please let me know how you did it. |
