Daewoo Lanos ticks when started
Well my friend has a Daewoo Lanos and it ticks when its started. She asked me but ive never seen one besides sitting at a car lot. It only ticks for acouple of secounds. Can anybody give me some advice. All i know its a lanos with a four banger.

May not have necessary lubrication. Check oil level. Does this occur in only low temperatures? Has oil been changed lately? Be sure to use correct viscosity of oil when changing, too thick oil can cause more severe "cold start" wear and tear.

My '01 Lanos has made a clicking sound from the fuel pump since the car was new. Three or four 'ticks' just after first starting of the engine in the morning, then it goes away and does it again the next morning. It won't do it if outside temp is below about 30deg F.
If this is what your friend is hearing, there should be no cause for concern. HTH |

Sam oil problem, keep a view of the oil and you wont get the tick problem again.
