Exclamation '03 Altima 2.5S - fog lamp HELP

I recently purchased an '03 that came factory WITHOUT fog lamps. I want to install fog lamps myself....Is there a do-it-yourself aid out there? Does anyone know how to do this w/o the dealer having to do it??

Also - this car is equipped w/o automatic headlamps.

Re: '03 Altima 2.5S - fog lamp HELP

There are good instructions on this page.

http://www.offroaders.com/info/tech-corner/lightforce/

Look for quality driving light kits with a harness that matches the other components. Ask for what you decide you want on Ebay. Consider nothing will fit as well and be dependable quality as gently used OEM driving lights for an Altima if they were available at the right price.

Make a seprate circuit with its own switch.
Use a relay to protect the switch.
Use fuses or circuit breakers to protect the whole circuit.
Solder every connection you have to make and use shrink tube.
Use wire loom like every auto manufacture does with their harness.
Secure the wires so that the weight and vibration won't break the wire at the ends.
As you tie the new wires in place, think about what would happen to the wire harness, A/C, fuel line, etc. that you are tying too, if the new wires were to burn up. Don't take the chance that it won't happen or the fuse will prevent it.
Use a rubber grommett to prevent the wire from grounding on the body where you run the wire thru the firewall.
If Possible mount the lights with the wire entering on the bottom so that water won't find a way inside the light. Tape the loom so water won't collect inside of it.

If you follow the wire diagram on the url about installing offroad lights, your fog lights will only work with the high beems on and go off with low beams. You will still be able to turn fog lights off if you turn the switch off.

An alternate way to wire that has some different advantages like road lights on w/ lowbeam lights or any time you turn the fog light switch on would be to complete the ground side of the relay thru the switch. You would run constant power to the relay terminal shown in the diagram instead of a power wire comming from the switch.
