Revell Sauber BMW F1.06
Here is my current build. I was disappointed with the amount of flash in comparison to Revell's previous F1 kits, but a little but of cleanup goes a long way. I know there is a current thread on the same kit so don't mind me
I've assembled the bulk of the chassis using filler around the sidepods where the air intakes are, and also the monococque around the front suspension as Revell have moulded this piece to be glued after the suspension is in place. This is typical of most if not all Revell F1 kits, but once primed it hopefully shouldn't be noticable. Some of the diffuser parts have very odd joins with the undertray, more filler was needed here. This kit is going to need a lot of it! More to come.

Nice start. Make sure you test the fitment of all the parts with the Revell F1 kits.
Kind regards, Bill |

Re: Revell Sauber BMW F1.06
I have finally stopped slacking and picked up some progress on this kit. I have since sprayed the body and all body components Tamiya Pure White, then masked off the body for Tamiya Mica Blue. I dont know if it is correct, but it's the same color used on my Sauber C22. I made an error masking the blue on the rear kickups, which forced me to move the Petronas and Red pinstriping decals back, but it's not bad. The undertray is fairly simple, but the included carbon fiber decals make it 10 times better. As you can see, the brakes are pretty simple as well, but this will all be hidden once the wheels are mounted.

Re: Revell Sauber BMW F1.06
The model looks excellent in this update. As for the blue, it looks correct to me (and it is always difficult to judge from photographs). Don't forget to paint the inside of the monocoque
All the very best, Bill |

Re: Revell Sauber BMW F1.06
How did you install the front suspension with the bodywork being finished?
