76,000 and had to replace the motor because timing belt broke and was supose to be replaced at 60,000 so I sujest you change you belt at 50,000 or 60,000 but dont wait longer because the aveo has an interference enigine wich means when the belt breaks your motor keeps going and the valves stop and when the pistons come up they bend the valves and then you have to either find a new motor or fork out the $900 for a new head.

I was just gonna mention that. I don't own an Aveo, but I'm an apprentice at a GM dealer. We've had a few of those aveo's come in with 120,000km (75,000mi) on them with busted timing belts, reccommended 100,000km (62,000mi). Just wanted to give ya's the heads up that they will break shortly after reccommended time!

Re: Who has racked up the most miles.....??

damn pos, you'd think that with a motor that allows its pistons to slam into the valves if not in sync would atleast produce decent power with the increased compression, like my VG30DE. but i guess they dont know what they are doing.

If i wanted to waste my money and time into producing 30 more HP than factory while maintaining its milage or exceeding it. Then i would because with some tuning that motor would run alot better and it wouldnt have cost GM any extra cash to do a little homework.
Im not talking bolt on mods here, im just speaking from a ECU perspective.

Re: Who has racked up the most miles.....??

I had almost 6,000 miles on it in the first 5 weeks. I'm currently at 17K+ and will probably break 19K by the end of next week. It's an '05 that I got in late July of last year, just about 9 months old.

I am very interested in what kind of things go wrong if any, as you reach the 100k milestone. I like the car allot, but dont really trust it to run for say 150 or around there.......Let us know how the car is doing. Thanks

Mike
