Re: VTec engagement

My 92 prelude doesn't say vtec on engine does it mean its not a vtec,I have power windows,mirrors,and sunroof please help. Thank you

If it doesn't say it on the valve cover, then no, it's not a VTEC engine. There are plenty of Hondas that don't have VTEC stamped on the valve cover, that are VTEC engine, but the 4th gen Preludes ('92-'96) are an exception. The only VTEC engine in that generation is the H22A1 The other, non-VTEC, options for that generation are the F22A1 and H23A1. You can tell what engine you have, from a plate that is stamped on the front of the engine. The plate is located where the engine block meets the transmission. Like this (this is a H22A; no number after the "A" because it's an engine straight from Japan):


Also; you're far better off starting your own thread, rather than bringing back an old thread that has nothing to do with the topic at hand.
