Could you forego the cover for the content inside? Keep a WEST one and have a good read to see what 'all the fuss is about' until you can grab another one with a more suitable cover, then sell the WEST one?

Wow, that's worth some money

Did you find the most of them online?
Or in shops (physical) ?
Looking for just one of these, but it's not an easy job, for a reasonable price.

One on ebay, one online elsewhere and 2 via private transactions

Looking for one at a reasonable price - aren't we all! I'm always on the lookout, and am forever searching for that elusive super-bargain

Nice set G!

When you locate a second Gulf covered copy I will give you a reasonable price for it.

Re: Books on the Mclaren - Which ones to get and why

When I bought the 2nd WEST one, I didn't know the cover, I just knew it was the Michael Cotton GTR book, hence my questions earlier; I was testing the water to see if you still wanted one, and if it was a GULF one you would have had an email once I had opened the parcel

I think the Gulf cover is the rarest one as I've only seen the one copy with it.

Re: Books on the Mclaren - Which ones to get and why

Does anyone know why the west covered book has a red dot on one copy and one copy without? I'm asking because I have seen this before and also because I have a West copy without the red dot. It's a superficial thing but it must mean something. I wondered if one is to indicate a second edition or something, perhaps the publishing page might mention something. Thanks!!

Re: Books on the Mclaren - Which ones to get and why

Is it actually on the spine of the book jacket or is it on the plastic outer covering?

If it's on the plastic cover it might just be a convenient place to put the price. Just a thought.

It was on there when I bought it, and I believe it was put on there by the seller as they had a massive collection of books and I think the dots were a way of filing / referencing them.

BTW I have heard of a series of GULF books that had been available at over twice what I paid for any of mine.......

Re: Books on the Mclaren - Which ones to get and why

Erik and Greg,

Thanks for the reply, sorry it took me a while to respond. I appreciate the insight, thanks for clearing up that little issue for me. I would not have thought of that because I was never able to notice the plastic wrapper on the book.

Re: Books on the Mclaren - Which ones to get and why

For anyone who doesn't have "McLaren - The Cars" yet and has been thinking of getting it, I noticed today that it currently has £10 off for a limited time at the McLaren shop:

Re: Books on the Mclaren - Which ones to get and why

Just bought this, found by my ever-reliable book sourcer!

I've never seen this cover for the 1997 GT Endurance - quite topical too
