2.0 Liter V6 engine????

i just had my engine swaped with a used 38,000 mile engine for my 1989 Toyota Camry. I never really cared or had any interest in engines until recently because of that. when i looked under my carhood the engine read 2.0. From all my research and the many car mechanics i talked to i found out that all V6 engines have 2.5 Liter engines or bigger. but my dad says that my engines an exception because it is straight from Japan. Also, from the many websites that I have visited the "normal" 2.5 L V6 camry engines have 150+ hp and 150+ torque/feet while the "usually" 2.0 L 4-cylinder camry's have 110 hp and around that much torque/feet. If i was to actually to have a 2.0 L V6 engine how much hp and torque would I have??? Is there even such thing as a 2.0 L V6 engine??? if you guys know a website that I might find this info in pleeeze reply.

The only 2.0 V6 ive heard of was in the Mazda Precidea, if im not mistaken the inline 4 version was a 1.9 and the V6 2.0 which made it the smallest mass produced V6....

I've not heard of Toyota making a 2L V6. As far as how much horsepower and torque it produces, its not as simple as the displacement and cylinders. Could be under a hundred horses to more then two-fifty.

I don't believe the Nissan "RB" was a V6, but it was/is a six (inline).

Honda, at one time, had a 2.0L V6 offered in the Honda Legend. And I agree that the smallest modern V6 sold in North America was the Mazda MX3 (I won't even try to butcher the Canadian name for this vehicle) with the 1.8L V6 (which was a smaller version of the 2.5L used in the 626/MX6/Probe).

I don't recall a Toyota 2.0L V6 existing in Japan (but it may have) and I know that none were imported to the US. Even if your (1989) car came "straight from Japan," it would have an American-spec engine. Toyota certified the 2.5L V6 for use in (early) Camrys.

Yes, it is possible. Motor mounts are the same. It may need some tweaking.

Open the hood and look at the engine. Cound the number of heads. Better yet, count the number of plug wires that got to the engine. That should give you a pretty good idea of the number of cyliners.

tale a picture and post it here.

That would be one tiny V6.
That MX3 engine makes my excited. Can you imagine how well that would rev, it would be wondererful fully tricked-out.

What was the canadian name for the MX3?

engine choices

the only available engines for the camry in 1989 were the 2 liter inline four (115hp) and the 2.5 liter V6 (153hp). Count sparkplugs, or even look at the engine, does it say 2.0 or 2.5? I can't imagine that someone'd have this much difficulty figuring out which engine is under their hood.

P.S.

there's usually a little latch that you have to push/pull to unlatch the hood, now that you know that, OPEN YOUR HOOD!!! observe! four and six cylinder cars are completely different! is it four or three cylinders wide?
