The first coat should just be enough to cover the model. The odd little bit of see through want matter to much as you have another 2-3-4 coats to go !!!!

Orange peel....Looks just like the outside skin of a orange, and thats the type of finsh you get when you paint.

Krylon primer? No! You want an acrylic or plastic primer, used for car bumpers and stuff!

If you go for an orange peel look on your first coat, you will get the right results.
After that each coat wants to be even and look very shiny and smooth, but not run.
You have to hold each panel in the light as you move round it, so you can see it well.
Then spray so that it just starts to look even and shiny, and never stop moving the can.
It will end up just right.
Keep practicing, and you get better! Now I don't have to think about it, but some of my old paint jobs!???
