Cadpo Brings Legendary Race Car to the Centrix Financial Grand Prix of Denver

WESTMINSTER, Colo., July 8 -- Cadpo has teamed up with the
Grand Prix of Denver to bring one of the most significant automobiles in
racing history, the Mormon Meteor III (MMIII), to the 2003 race. Cadpo
provides the only global, vendor-neutral Knowledge Management system to the
MCAD/PLM industry.
Built in 1938, the MMIII is a Duesenberg -- one of the most valuable names
in collector automobiles. The MMIII, along with its driver Ab Jenkins, was an
international phenomenon and pioneer in land speed racing in the mid-20th
century when it set and broke hundreds of endurance and speed records. Ab
Jenkins, with this historic car, held more world records than any man in the
history of automobile racing.
Considered one of the most valuable cars in the world, the MMIII is more
than 21 feet long, 6 feet high and weighs nearly 5,000 pounds.
"The Grand Prix of Denver is proud to work with Cadpo to bring this
historic automobile to our event," said John Frew, vice president and general
manager of the Centrix Financial Grand Prix of Denver. "The MMIII stands as a
monument of racing greatness and seeing it will be a breathtaking experience
for racing fans of all ages."
The MMIII was built near and tested on the Indianapolis speedway, but its
record-breaking history took place in the Rocky Mountain Region of the United
States.
"The MMIII's tie with the Rocky Mountain Region makes it a perfect fit for
Cadpo and the Grand Prix," said David Fedler, vice president, Cadpo. "Both the
Grand Prix and the MMIII represent what Cadpo stands for -- technical
excellence, high-performance and teamwork. Cadpo is proud to play a role in
the history of both."
Marvin Jenkins, who helped build the MMIII in 1938 and recently performed
its restoration, will be on hand to discuss the car's design and history. "The
MMIII revolutionized the world of racing and the automotive industry," said
Jenkins. "When we learned about Cadpo's involvement around the world in modern
automobile design we knew it was a great fit. We're excited to have Cadpo host
the MMIII for this event."
The MMIII will be on display at the Grand Prix in downtown Denver,
Colorado, Aug 29-31, 2003. Cadpo will be hosting a hospitality booth for
clients and friends along with a booth in the main expo area where the MMIII
will be on display.
