Question Fueling issue....

OK, Hyundai Accent 2004. Every time I go to ANY gas station to gas this vehicle, the gas pump shuts off every 2 seconds. It didn't used to do that. What happened? The car runs good, just filling it with gas at the station has become a problem. Think something wrong with the fuel tank?

Re: Fueling issue....

My mechanic wants $200 to drop the gas tank, and replace the sensor that's causing the problem. I'm just going to keep this lousy Hyundai through the end of this year. Then, NO MORE HYUNDAI'S. Cheap, crappy vehicles.

Re: Fueling issue....

I repaired the 2003 Tiburon this weekend, it took about an hour. I did not have to drop the tank, I just removed the two bolts and two nuts holding the charcoal canister, removed the two fuel vapor connecting lines, the electrical connection to the sensor. Once removed cleaned out the charcoal that clogged the vapor lines. I installed a small screen (from a water faucet), reinstalled in reverse order: Problem solved, I can now fuel car with no issues. Cost & 0.00. Hope this helps.
