p0340 code
I have a Ford E-150 4.2l autotrans. I have the P0340 code coming up. The code reads "Cam Position Sensor A Bank 1 Ckt Malfunction". This code seems to be spcifet to bank 1 as code P0345 reads the same as P0340 but is bank 2. I have a misfire that ocures during load on the engine. I have replaced the cam shalft sensor and it's shalft. I have also replaced plugs and wires. and the crank shalft sensor also. What I am woundering is could this be the coil pack. I is not as bad when cold but when it gets hot the trouble starts up. Anybody got a clue as to why this is bank 1 only
Thanks Leonard |

Re: p0340 code
khung88876 Thanks your insight as to why bank1 was being effeced and not bank2 was right on. I replaced the coil and now it's running fine. Autozone was not able o test it but that was alright. I should have went with my gut in the frist place.
Thanks, Leonard |
