Unhappy trofeo sauna

I have a 92 trofeo, and I'll start the car then everything on thse panel goes blank except the tach. The defrost turns on automaticly and blows hot air. What can be done about this.

Re: trofeo sauna

it's the instrument cluster, which is the digital odometer and the information center

Re: trofeo sauna

Can you overhaul a digital dash, take it out and apart , look for bad soldered connections, if you feel up to this, if not exchanges are available. Also check for proper grounds in the dash circuitry.

Re: trofeo sauna

You're right. It IS the instrument cluster, and more specifically, a corrupt capacitor. The good news: cost a few cents to replace. The bad news: it is quite technical.

Here's a link that will tell you everything you need to know to fix it.
