good mechanic?

is there any place in so cal that will analyze my car to see whats wrong with it and gaurentee it'll fix it rather then telling me that, replacing it, then me taking it back to find out nothing is different? or paying a dealer to find out and have them tell me that its the cadillac converter and it would be cheaper to take it too _____ which specializes in them rather then them. then be going there having them take it out and telling me nothing is wrong with it and putting it back in. at least they didn't charge me for it, but the car still needs to be fixed.
i'm in southern orange county laguna hills

Re: good mechanic?

Catalytic, not cadillac. If thats what you need go to a muffler shop. cat conv is simple to replace.

Re: good mechanic?

They don't need to be replaced, i took it to a place, they tok it out drilled holes in it said it said it was perfectly fine and put it back in.

Right now I'm looking for a place to take it that will find out whats wrong, and fix it, and GAURENTEE that their work will fix it. I'm tired of paying for places to fix things that are not wrong. Told twice that spark plugs needed to be replaced as well. Replaced them once at first, then replacing them again was the last thing i did just even just to make sure since it seems like nothing else was working.

Re: good mechanic?

They drilled hole in the cat? why? that makes it illegal technically.

Re: good mechanic?

Yeah, what is the car doing? How is it acting? Not much power, cuts out under load, rough idle, doesn't stay running? Help us out so we can help you out.... please.
