Well the prototype longtail (56XPGT) and prototype LM (XPLM) are at the Mclaren factory. Another longtail (58F1GT) and an unknown LM are in a private collection in Japan. And LM3 is in America under the ownership of Frank Seldorff. As for the others I haven't got a clue.

P.S, Why have Mclaren still retained ownership of some of the cars ?? and what do they do with them ??

I believe their plan with the prototypes is to stick them in the new museum at the McLaren factory. However, the F1 GT prototype has apparently been offered for sale in the past.

As far as the locations - three LMs are in Brunei - two of those three were apparently painted black instead of orange. As mentioned, one is in Massachusetts and the other is in Japan and the prototype remains with McLaren Cars.

There's some conflicting info on the whereabouts of the one of the customer F1 GTs. The burgundy one is in Japan, while the black one may be in England (with a customer) or it may be in Brunei with the LMs.

Leno's is a standard (hehe - that just sounds silly) F1 road car. The chassis number is #015.

Its not wery often a prototypecar gets offered for sale. Thats because the company perhaps has a developmentcoast for 3 - 4 times the price. Itīs a huge loss for the company, and if they keep it as a prototype they can write off the cost every year as a r & d cost.
