Trying to get my odometer converted from KM to miles

I just bought a 2002 Odyssey and want to convert the odometer from kilometers to miles. I am able to get the new guages that read in miles per hour but honda of america wont sell me the circuit board to change over the odometer. They say they will only sell it if a VIN number is provided AND it is an American version Odyssey. I gave them my VIN and they said no can do because it was a canadian car. But I have it properly titled in the U.S. So... any ideas on how to get the part? My Odyssey is brand new, only has 232 kilometers on it. Do I have to live with the KM? What about when I sell it, people will think there is 80,000 miles on it when it will actually only be 49,709. Any others out there driving canadian versions? What did you do or have done? Any other places I can contact, like a company that preps canadian cars for resale in the U.S. to see if they have the circuit panel or cluster? I'm assuming I would run into a dead end trying to get it out of Honda of Canada, they'd say get it from Honda America. Thanks in advance!

Re: Trying to get my odometer converted from KM to miles

I seriously doubt you'll be able to get that done by anyone who plays by the rules. You may just be trying to convert your gauge cluster, but most places have a no odometer replacement under any circumstances policy out of paranoia. People used to use the same type of excuses to commit odometer fraud, for the most part the industry has caught on and taken drastic measures to stop it happening. The type of shop that would do that for you would be one of those shady, greasy places that you would have to be pretty dumb to trust with your car.
