Anyone know what this is?

I'm gonna post a pic if I can...but if you look under your P10 in the front, like laying on your back, and look up at the radiator, you see this really heavy cylinder type thingie...thats about 3feet long and 4-5 inches in diameter...attached by a couple of bolts...what is that thing? I cant find a description..

It's a mass damper to soak up NVH.

Had to remove mine to install the intercooler.

I also took out my mass damper, It really doesn't serve a good purpose, only adding a bit of weight. I was surprised at how heavy that thing was. Probably at least 15 lbs....

NVH = Noise Vibration Harshness.

Motor companies spend ass loads of money trying to get the NVH as low as they can in their cars. People seem to think that cars that vibrate and sound like tractors aren't very good.

Soooo after removing it, can you notice a difference at all? I mean does the whole damn car vibrate?

So it makes the car quieter by reducing vibration? And by removeing this it would make it louder. I surprised all the ricetuning people haven't discovered this mod. :hehehe:
