turbo on a basic 3000GT

hi, everyone, i am a newbie. let me introduce myself. my name is Chris Wang. i have a white 94 3000GT. my question is is there any twin turbo available in the market? if so, can i put a twin turbo on my basic 3000GT? i know there is a VR-4, but before i knew the VR-4 has 320hp, i bought a basic one. so i hope i can put a twin turbo on a basic 3000GT. can anyone give me some help? i will appreciate it.

No you can't, it would take some mods to the engine and what not.. I would just buy a vr-4 engine swap, or buy a vr-4. do a search there are tons of these questions.

Re: turbo on a basic 3000GT

You can, but it takes quite a few donor parts from a vr4. If you aren't mechanically inclined, generally it is easier to get a vr4. There is no 'kit' available, so the TT conversion takes some work. There is however a Supercharger available, info for that is in the FAQ. Welcome to AF.

Your 1996 Mitsubishi 3000GT VR-4 is the 92nd out of the 315 that were made that year. Only 21 of which are exactly identical.

Re: turbo on a basic 3000GT

There is no 'set cost' because there is no 'kit'. It all depends how cheap you can find the necessary used parts or a vr4 donor car, and if you do the work or pay a mechanic. It would be really hard to put a price on so many variables...perhaps one of the guys on here can tell you how much it cost them...but I think they both did the work themselves. As well, you could check out the link Hotshot posted above and see what some otehr guys spent.

what i ment was that their is no turbo kit that just straps on. and putting turbos on and running them at higher psi than 7 takes some engine mods. i don't appreciate the damn attitude.

You still have ALOT of reading to do. There are 10:1 guys running 10 psi + on a daily basis without any major engine mods.

Also the way your post read was like you cant add turbos to a NA. Read it again. I'll even quote it
