TB coolant bypass

Hey i was woundering if anyone knows if the TB coolant bypass actualy works, it seems like it would in theory. Has anyone done this that can let me know. If so does anyone have any info on what i need and how exactly to do this, a picture or diagram would be awsome. Thanx alot guys.

Yes it does. My Z28 had a nasty power fall off when the temp got up. By getting that out of the way the fall off is virtually gone. Nice part too is the intake is a heck of alot cooler if you have to do any emergency roadside work

Well its good to know that im not waisting my time then but im still not 100% sure of witch hoses do do what with, dose anyone have pics or instructions of this done to an LT1?

I've heard its a bad idea to do a TB bypass if you drive that particular vehicle in cold weather. If you bypass it, in cold below freezing weather, your throttle blades could freeze shut. If that happens, the car won't run obviously. By running the coolant through the TB in below freezing weather, it makes sure that your throttle blades don't freeze.

Even though it is very rare to happen, Poormillionaire is right and thats the reason why GM designed coolant to flow threw there. I have never heard of it happening to anyone and know plenty of people that have driven there cars below freezing with it done but built up moisture in that area would cause the blades to stick and over time this would create tension on the cables. Although for alot of people who don't let there cars warm up before taking off, this could happen regardless.
