Re: Challenger Concept vs. Camaro Concept

i like the challengere better but i am gettin tired of the retro styling as well. i am a big dodge fan but im getting tired of all the stuff they are making nowadays. most of their cars are ugly and overweight. look at the charger, magnum, 300c. nothing unique is coming from them i liked the neon srt but it is gone now, one of their only cars under 4000lbs. theyre gonna get caught in the fossil fuel trap like they did in the 70s. all their cars are big bulky and horrible on gas. they need something light, futuristic, and fun to drive.

i love the camaro concept. the reason is like what drunken monkey said, atleast the camaro has some new styling element and has the essense of the original in there. they're not carbon copies like hte challenger. however i disagree with the mustang. i hate the new mustang, that to me is almost an exactly replica of the original only this time around, its alot bigger then the original.

Re: Challenger Concept vs. Camaro Concept

That Camaro concept is gorgeous. It actually acknowledges that cars have moved on since 1969, ulike the Challenger.

Challenger of course. They got the design right the first time so why try to go crazy with it?? I'm also sure that the negative response to the Charger from Dodge loyalists played a big part in keeping the old design relatively untouched.

Plus the front end of the Camaro looks like a damn Gremlin!!!

Re: Challenger Concept vs. Camaro Concept

I like the Camaro concept more than the Challenger concept. The Camaro is almost one foot shorter than the Challenger at 186 vs 197 inches or so.

Unlike the new Mustang, the Challenger and Camaro concepts have IRS and will keep them if they make it to production in 2009. The Camaro concept has cylinder deactivation with gives it around 30 mpg on the highway.

I do wonder what the 2011 Mustang will look like...

The new Dodge Challenger will use a revised and shortened Chrysler LX chassis likely called LY by then.

The Camaro concept will likely use a revised Zeta (Holden) chassis by 2009. The Impala would go back to rwd by then.
