Re: Chassis 073 to be offered at 2015 RM-Sotheby's Auctions in Monterey

This car looked fantastic in person at the Celebration Festival of Exotic cars in 2006. I have some photos floating around here somewhere, but I recently uploaded them to my flickr account: https://www.flickr.com/photos/havblu...57651932087606

I remember talking with one of the guys that maintained Don Wallace's collection at the time. He said they were turning down offers for $2mm for the car at the time, which was really good for an F1 then. My how times have changed. Can't wait to see how much it goes for. I'll say $13 million sold including commission.

I think it will go higher - I'd say just over $14M including the Premium.

It will be very interesting to see this one.
Not an standard F1, LM spec engine, and outside LM look. Most of the people I think will want F1 with an orginal shape, so this car will be very interesting to follow.
And I watched that list what they offered to sell there including this F1.
I think 2000GT Toyota, this F1 and MC-12 would be fine to me.

It has a lot going for it, LM engine, GTR looks and practicality of the standard F1 with full 3 seats, soundproofing and luggage space.

Re: Chassis 073 to be offered at 2015 RM-Sotheby's Auctions in Monterey

I am heading to NYC in the next couple of weeks and I would like to confirm if this F1 (073) is still there and also if there are other F1's are nearby for viewing.

Thanks

You can contact the New York location of Sotheby's to ask, but based on my original contact with them via Twitter the car should be gone by now. We're just a couple of weeks away from the Monterey auction date.

17R had been displayed at BMW's facility in Montvale, NJ but I think it left for a display at Watkins Glen a couple of weeks ago and then probably returned to Ohio.

Re: Chassis 073 to be offered at 2015 RM-Sotheby's Auctions in Monterey

These three F1s are all expected to appear in Monterey. Always hoping for more to surprise me but it will be great to see this trio!

If someone could try to record the live stream of the RM Auction when they sell the Pinnacle Portfolio cars on Thursday night (Aug 13th) that would be GREAT. If you can't capture the stream directly, I have done this before rather crudely by pointing a digital camera at my laptop screen. Not ideal, but it captures the action nonetheless.

The auction is due to begin at 6pm local time (Pacific -- UTC -8:00) and end at 8pm. The F1 is Lot 107 (7th of 25) so it won't take too long to get to. Should definitely be worth watching as these are some serious blue chip cars crossing the block.
