RX400H, specs?
Does anybody know what the economy specs and the power specs are going to be for the upcoming Hybrid RX?

That info seems to be well guarded on the Lexus site but the article I read in Automobile Magazine claims 30 city and 26 highway. Yes, highway is lower than city.
Considering the $5-10K premium the dealers are trying to soak early buyers, I think it's not worth getting the 400h over the 330. Especially if you drive highway. I have a Corvette and Buick that get better than that! I get over 30mpg highway on my Buick century (don't know about city yet), why would anyone spend the extra cash to get this hybrid? If in fact you do realize the 30 in the city, that is a big improvement over the 330 that gets about 20. However, if you travel the average 12,000 miles a year city driving, it will take an additional 200 gal of gas in the 330 vs. 400h. At $2.00 a gal it will take over 12 years to make up for a $5000 premium. Is it worth it? Not to me. |
