Keys inside of the trunk
Hi, I have a 04 BMW 325i. I left my keys inside of the trunk. I have called several locksmiths and they have told me that I need a key to open it. I tried taking off the back seat but there is a metal plate and I wouldn't want to cut it. Does somebody know if there is a way to open it without damaging it?
Thank you for your help. |

Re: Keys inside of the trunk
2 things come to mind.
1. Do you have a power trunk release? If yes, you may be able to power the trunk release circuit by using a jumper wire to provide power to the trunk release fuse..... then push the release button. This has worked for me in the past. 2. If that does not work, does the trunk share a key with anything other lock, such as the glovebox door? If yes, remove the glovebox door and take it to a good locksmith. They should be able to cut a new key for it. This has also worked for me in the past. |

Re: Keys inside of the trunk
You can get in the car, but the keys are locked in the Truck!
Is the battery dead in the trunk? If yes, you need to pop the hood and back feed volts 12volts to the battery in the trunk, than push the button to release & open the trunk. Last edited by danielsatur; 10-19-2010 at 04:19 PM. |
