Re: my civic vs. an integra ls
i'll agree the neon isnt the greatest wen it comes to lasting for a long time, but i dnt plan on owning the car till i can bury it, i'm probably gonna have for the next 2months, i just found some idiot willing to pay 3g for it, more than i did, as for american cars being worse than import, yea, thats y there are more american cars on the rd than imports, yes toyota just overtook ford and became the number one car company in the world, but still how many toyota's acura's and honda's are on the most stollen list. i think the highest placed american car is an 03-04 mercury maruader because they were only made for one yr. people that want parts for it go to a dealer and pay thru the ass. if u come upon a stollen piece(fender) it'll be cheaper.
as for ur spoiler i still think it's on upside down. i dont look up power on google, exept for maybe lambo and shit, i look in car mags, where the advertised power is what they get off a dyno or from the company. god and i love people that say y'all, and better yet, y'alls |

Re: my civic vs. an integra ls
man this forum is messed up. i don't know why people have to criticize my taste for cars. i mean, come on. if i like my "ricer" spoiler what's that to you? get over it. geez. it's my car. when you got y'alls first cars i'll bet you were pumped up about it too. i came on to this forum expecting to be able to talk to some people and learn from some people that know what they're doing. not be picked apart about what i like and don't like. y'all are jerks. that's right "y'all". rot in hell.
gah. peace out *$@%^es. go hate on someone elses ride. i'm out. |

Re: my civic vs. an integra ls
not even worth commenting, but i'll do it anyways because i've got nothing better to do right now.
"imports>domestics" stupid comment, not all imports are better than all domestics. they all have their pros and cons. i would MUCH rather have a mustang over a hyundai. i understand that you would be pumped for your first car, i just got mine in august, a 1992 honda accord. it's bone stock, and will look that way until i get rid of it, no matter what i do under the hood. why? because i don't want to advertise to every cop on the street that i've got stuff going on, that way they won't be watching me like a hawk for speeding. not only that, but i like doing things that will make my car go faster, if it doesn't than it's pointless. if a wing would make my car handle better i might consider buying one, but it won't, it'll ruin my gas mileage, and if it actually makes downforce could make the car handle worse. if you posted a list of your mods it might back your "i'm not a ricer" argument, because right now you look alot like one. the reason alot of people don't like you right now is because you're showing the exact attitude that give alot of us car enthusiasts bad names. the main thing is that you're saying domestics suck, which is a retarded statement and will only make you enemies. if you can't appreciate that someone's opinion might not be the same than yours about cars then don't call yourself a car enthusiast, call yourself a honda fanatic, because that's what you are. sure, i'll admit that i don't like very many domestics but i won't say that they're worse than any other car, i reserve that comment for korean cars, why is that? because i can accept that someone likes his neon better than my accord, and that's fine with me. another thing is that you're coming in here and arguing with people when you don't have much knowledge about cars, how they work, etc. that again will only make you enemies, because if you come in here thinking you're hot shit and don't respect that others know more than you and aren't willing to try and learn, then there's no point in talking because you won't get anywhere. if you can't accept criticism about your car, then don't bother talking about it, not everyone is going to share your opinion. anyways that's my rant

Re: my civic vs. an integra ls
who doesnt have knowledge of cars, me. cause i do know a lot about cars.
as for staying in skool i already graduated. college isnt my thing, i'm not much for studying, as for spelling and grammer used on here, i dnt care, it's the f'in internet, my past english teachers arent going to read this and give me a grade, so i dnt care. as for the common misperception that imports are better than domestics, is because in the 70's wen honda toyota and nissan became more popular, they didnt give up quality, they increased it along with production. it was 1 out of 100 imports were problematic. the domestics, still wanted to flood the market with cars, so quality went out the door, and production went thru the roof, it was close to 10/100 were faulty. since the mid 90's domestics have gone up an incredable amount in quality. the only reason they're having problems now are because they have unions, and imports dnt, ford is having to pay for people that havent worked for them in 20yrs, while toyota and so on are just waving good bye, and never looking back. i never really ment to say the civic or accord are shit, they r nice cars, jusst like my neon is, for what they are ment for, economy cars to get u to the city on one gallon of gas, they arent ment for racing, if they were honda and dodge wouuld've designed em that way, that's y they made the srt4 and the Si's. they relized that there was a huge following in the aftermarket for those types of cars. and if they could make money off it they would, and did. and i'm not saaying it's a ricer special spoiler, i think it's on upsdie down, i've never seen one like that, where the back points down and not up, that to me would seem to produce more drag than nething else. |

but... y'all act like i don't understand the benefits of making my car a "sleeper". i know it will decrease the chance of cops watching me, make people underestimate me... etc. i do. i just want my car to look good as well as be fast. like... something you'd see in import tuner. if it's stupid all well. why does everyone have to be so hostile? i like my spoiler. here's my mods. performance upgrades... h22 engine swap. headers. intake. exhaust. lowering springs. struts. exterior upgrades... spoiler. hub caps. yeah soo... how am i a ricer? under the hood so far is only the beginning. i'm only 16. "mid 14 shit box"? i'm pretty sure it'll be faster than that in a couple years.. this ain't too bad for a first (kinda second. first one didn't really count. ha.) car. i'm not arguing that i know more? i believe i've stated repeatedly that i am new to this. but whatever. |

Re: my civic vs. an integra ls
sleepers are great, but not to b mean, but everyone looks at a civic and expects it to have some kinda upgrade, especially with a wing, and a ki driving it, not exactly what i call a sleeper.
a sleeper to me would b a 60's camaro yenko, a 427 in a car that had a 350 as it's largest engine. by the way, my friend(sore subject) wants to race his civic against my stealth, i know kinda funny. he wants the h22 engine too, how much r those things, and the labor to put it in, and what else would he have to get to make it work? as for the exhuast as long as it is headers back, than i dnt have a problem with a 2.5 inch pipe. it's just the people with the mufflers(that really dnt muffle) and 3", they annoy me. and ur civic, it's from the 90's, wats the curb weight on it, he wants a rolling tart, the stealth weighs around 3800lbs, civics weigh wat 2900-3000? |

Re: my civic vs. an integra ls
a 1990 civic will weigh in quite a bit less than 3000, It would depend on the trim, but I would say that you have a good 1400 pounds on him if you weigh 3800

Re: my civic vs. an integra ls
I've been avoiding posting in this shit-fest but since it won't die I'm going to put in my 2 cents...
Quote:
And to Hondaman09 - a Civic hatch with an H22 swap will put down a mid 13 1/4 mile with minor bolt-on mods, so I would imagine a sedan would put down a high 13 or low 14, maybe better with some slicks. But those cheesy rims and the large upside-down spoiler scream rice...fix them fast. Someone please kill this thread. |
