Unhappy Rev Problem

Hello

1995 FTO GPX MIVEC

I had my alternator replaced last week and have had problems since but am not sure if it is realted to that.

When I hit 6000 RPM the engine stops, it does not accelerate passed that point. It was fine before and the garage said nothing was wrong with it when they had it.

This problem occurs whether the oil is hot or cold.

PLEASE PLEASE Help me someone...

Re: Rev Problem

Hi

I think you'll find the problem is the they have fitted the wrong alternator, the MIVEC engine requires an alternator that has 4 connections where as the GR V6 engine only has 2 the additional connections have something to do with the operation of the MIVEC

hope that helps

Guy

if you have any more questions ask at www.ftooc.org as not a lot of owners check these pages
