Re: Truck Starts Consistently But Not Like It Should
Last major detail, is there a definitive way to tell if my truck needs the fuel pump with 1 connector or 2 without lifting the bed and looking?
Autozone and some other sites seem to show I need the 2-connector version but it is not crystal clear which one I need on a lot of websites. |

why 2 connectors ???? the other connector is the pressure/vacuum measuring part of the evap fuel system. the 2 connector should be the correct pump.. but it is possible your truck came from mexico .. |

Re: Truck Starts Consistently But Not Like It Should
OK, I finally got the truck back so I can proceed.
Should I worry about cleaning out the fuel tank while I have it exposed? The fuel filter seemed pretty clean/good when I changed it but that is a non-professional opinion. I see most people tilting the bed side-to-side but is there a reason it can't be raised in the front on the other axis? Something in the way? It seems like you could get more height where it counts. Will I need to do something to bleed the fuel system? Or will it just push through and burn up all the air? |

Re: Truck Starts Consistently But Not Like It Should
fuel pump has a sock to catch debris . if its crapped up the tank should be cleaned out.
install new pump and turn key to run a few times. then crank engine it should start quickly. also do this with the pressure gauge connected and the bed still up off the tank so if its messed up you can troubleshoot it. |

Re: Truck Starts Consistently But Not Like It Should
Everything went pretty smoothly. I broke a tab off of the bigger electrical connector but my kit came with a new one I just had to wire on.
I got everything attached, and after an initial chugging, the truck has started perfect now each time. I also replaced the mass air flow sensor. The check engine light also went off and has not come back on. Thanks so much! |
