hard start

05 cts with 3.6 60kmiles
runs good except when i fill up doesn't want to re start.
when it does it runs ruff for a bit then all is fine. till i fill up again.

please anyone have any ideas what is causing this??

This problem is usually caused by repeated overfill of the fuel tank. By continuing to fill tank after pump shuts off the charcoal canister becomes saturated with gasoline and caused fumes in vacuum to engine which caused rich fuel mixture and engine runs rough untill fumes are gone. To repair problem the charcoal canister needs to be repalced and proper filling of the tank will prevent from happening again. On the other hand you could have a proplem whith fuel evap system.

Found help with a P0496 code on my 06 CTS.

I never found a definitive answer, so I thought I would provide what I found.

On my car I ended up replacing the Evap purge solenoid located on top of the engine, passenger side, at the back.

The simple test I used was to remove the solenoid and blow through it.

If you can easily blow through it, it needs to be replaced.

This is just for everyones future info.
