Question Penalty/Fine by Traffic cop for blocking back seat mirror.

Will there be a penalty/fine imposed by the
Traffic cop if he finds the back seat of the car mirror glass
blocked by the owner with a bed cover?

I.e. The driver cannot see the back while taking
a reverse as the back seat mirror is blocked.

I don't think I quite follow what you're asking. I think you're asking if there's a legal concern with not being able to see out the rear view mirror through the back window because your vision is obscured by a truck bed cover.

If that's close to the correct interpretation, whether it's legal or not is probably partially dictated by your local laws. Here in the US, there are panel vans, buses, tractor-trailer trucks, etc. do not have any back windows or the rear visibility is obstructed by a trailer, and that's not an issue as long as the vehicle has side mirrors. I doubt that's the law globally though.

Re: Penalty/Fine by Traffic cop for blocking back seat mirror.

Thanks.

https://www.google.com/search?q=maru...obile&ie=UTF-8

I am owning the above make-model. Its a 5 seater vehicle. Two seater with driver and three passengers in the back.
What i have done is i have kept a bed cover behind.
Now this has obstructed my rear view. Now there are side mirrors one on my right and one on the left.
One more mirror glass in the center.
I would like to take reverse and see the back vehicles through the three glass mirrors as well as view the back vehicles when i am driving in forward motion. But because of the bed cover, i am unable to view.

Can a traffic police/cop penalise me for this according to the traffic rules, regulations & laws?

I don't know about Mumbai, but here it the US that shouldn't be a citable offense.

You could pick up a wireless and relatively easy to install backup camera and monitor to help with the rearward visibility as well.
