Re: What model car is this glass window for?

Please take picture of the whole window glass. You coud take it to service dept at a Ford car dealer and ask them.

What about a local glass installer?

Here's two other formats....if these don't work I don't know how you could view it.

I saw that image. It's just a closeup of a tiny part of the window, the serial number or some such.

You "don't know how I could view it" ?

Updating this place's forum software would be a humongous start.

I keep saying it, every visit here is like a trip back to the late 1990s. You're slowly losing fans to the social media sewer holes, or at best, to other make/model specific car forums, IE DriveAccord.

I plan on hanging out here indefinitely, because stuff stays on topic, and an off-topic subforum is provided for tangents. It's all about cars here. But even a modest update to the forum drivers, so folks like window poster here can post a photograph of the piece he's trying to identify, would be appreciated immensely.

And I keep saying it the forums software has nothing to do with losing people to social media. Even a lot of platform specific forums are slow.

Forum traffic slowed as Facebook grew. Other forums updated UI to try to keep users around as their traffic slowed due to Facebook and nothing changed.

The only thing that will bring traffic back to this forum or any other forums is killing Facebook.

And as far as posting pictures its literally the easiest thing in the world with this software. Upload the photo to a file-sharing site, get the link, click the image icon, paste the link, done. Using the attachment feature on any and all forums is always a problem because they severely limit file size. I haven't used forum attachments in 15 years.

That last point: Hmmm... Whatever software DriveAccord is using doesn't limit the size of images - to the degree this forum does, anyway. 15 years?? Then maybe the forum software here is 15 years overdue for a refresh.

Going through that three-ring-circus just to post images, and then most of us can't view the image because the link doesn't work or whatever, is unacceptable in the 2020s.

At the risk of sounding like a skipping record I won't keep mentioning it, but I'm sure I'm not the only member who would suggest forum upgrades.

Re: What model car is this glass window for?

there is no 3 ring circus to post images. Its literally the easiest thing ever. And when I say I haven't used forum attachments in 15 years I haven't used it in 15 year on any forum, anywhere. Its just not needed with the plethora of file sharing services.

Forum upgrades will not change the state of the forum.

It's not an opinion. It's an unfortunate fact.

Well, to "beat" the social scum pools, AF has to match them, tech-wise that is!

But as a dedicated topic(cars & car repair) forum, AF at the same time has to maintain the same level of moderation as it always has.

If this is partly an issue of financing, then I, among others I'm sure, would gladly chip in $5 each, to find the software and platform upgrades that would put us on level ground with any dedicated topic forum out there, and rivaling those unmentionable social platforms.

The technology and the will to are both there. We just have to want to do it bad enough. If not, eventually, we will lose the ship, in a manner of speaking. I hope not to see that happen to Automotive Forums.

Re: What model car is this glass window for?

Again, I am on other forums, where they tried to match to keep traffic and it failed. It would be no different here.

It's what you believe it is.

Hang around here: https://www.driveaccord.net/whats-new/posts/713457/

I'm not advertising it, just showing the design. Place is hopping day & night! lol, and it's just one model by one make.

Re: What model car is this glass window for?

Just because one forum is hopping doesn't mean anything. You are stuck on the premise that an updated UI will bring people back. Think of it like Sears and Kmart. They tried everything to save themselves and be hipper and more relevant but nothing could be done.

Also a one model forum will have more dedicated people, especially when it's for a popular model. You can't really compare it. Even when this place was "hopping" it still didn't have near the traffic of model specific forums.
