Rough idle and stalling
I have a 1999 Ford Explorer XLT, V-6 4.0 ltr SOHC, the problem I have is that sometimes it idles very rough and when you give it some gas it backfires, and sometimes it completly stalls.
I checked with a scanalizer for trouble codes and found cam position sensor, replaced him and cleared the codes, but it is still the same. I also checked fuel pressure and de fuelpump but that all looks good, and I got the injectors cleaned. Please could anybody help me with this problem, because even the Ford Dealer here on Aruba doesn't know what's the problem. Thanks very much, Jan Aruba |

Re: Rough idle and stalling
hmmm backfire...sounds like the timing to me. the back fire is caused from the build up of fuel in the cylinders and when it does ignite..BOOM...theres your back fire timing will also cuase the stalling...check your timing it will help!!!!
