$150g's to spend on a car.
a friend of mine has $150,000 U.S. to spend on a car, what should he get?? he doesn't really have any preferences to sports cars or sedans or whatever.......... i'm telling him to get either a ferrari or a mercedes SL55, what would you get? and don't say save the money coz his dad is buying this car for him anyway so its not like he'd save any money for himself anyway.

i would also say get a ferrari. either a f-355 or f-360. but when they buy the car, i hope they can afford to keep it running (i.e. insurance, tags, etc.).

Re: $150g's to spend on a car.
lol, trust me he can afford to insure pretty much any car only problem with a ferrarri is it would be scary to park it anywhere but with the S55's they're pretty common in this country so they wouldn't be too bad to leave parked somewhere.

Re: $150g's to spend on a car.
Uhhh, this again goes down to preference, but I would suggest the 996 TT if he wants a car that he wont feel awkward driving around town a lot. If he's close to some hills or good places to speed and in town isn't the biggest priority, I would suggest the Gallardo. But then again, when you get to 150g's really utility is out the window, so tell him to buy every issue of evo magazine for the last year and read up on the subjective anaylsis of the cars in this price range.
Also, never under estimate the power of two cars. For 150k you could buy a Lotus Elise for some insane highway and road driving while taking a Noble M12 GTO-3R for the track. With the 40k that he still has he could swap the enigne in the Noble and make it a mean track car. Oh, and still have enough change to build a kickass garage for his two new beauts.

lol, yeah the Noble M12 would be amazing........ sadly i think he's getting a brabus spec mercedes.... hes already had 2 and both got totalled in accidents, but he likes em so i think he's stuck in his way for now. he's got no imagination if you ask me but its up to him.

he already wrecked to brabus's?!?!?! he shouldn't be able to drive anymore, at least nice expensive cars. or he should learn to drive before he gets a nice car.

He should get what he's happy with. Asking other people what you should get or what another person should get is a bit stupid.

I agree, in fact I glad that Zwrangler, you posed this question, not your friend. If I had 150g's to spend, I would hate to ask someone for their advice because in this price range especially people tend to pick their favorites and other people's opinions may just dampen your friend's enjoyment of getting his new car.

the second one is having bad problems and he's finding it hard to repair and maintain it coz theres only 2 of its kind in the country so thats why he wants to sell it now and get another merc.

F' the GT man, with $150,000 I would buy the Shinoda R32 GTR for $26,000. Then import through motorex for like $10,000 or whatever. And then I would have a 600whp Stripped street legal (well in some states) GTR that, in the rare occurence of a race, would leave the Ford GT being a raped ape. Then I would buy a couple used Porches and Bimmers.
