stering column

had to change the column and the differnce was two plugs one was the turn signal lever its self so we put orginal one on new column.. but the wires that come from turn signal box on left side of column that control wipers is differnt 7 wires come out of old one and 5 come out of new one... any suggestions on gettin wipers to work??? thank you oh yeah car is a 82 coulmn is a 83 or 84

Hello,
I have a maybe related problem and it is a common Cimarron problem and the wiper occasionally comes on by itself for one sweep and I think you need to replace the switch with a new one to fix it. Have you had this same problem?
