Post Mercury Marauder

What is everyone's feeling on this dying breed of big V8 sedans. I personally wouldn't mind having this bad boy. I also wouldn't mind the old Impalas either, the rear wheel drive ones.

Check this out!

Looks too much like a Crown Vic. They need better styling, like the Ford forty-nine.

I agree, I don't really like Ford but its good that they are trying to keep this trend alive. Kudos to them.

Well, essentially it's a Crown Vic, as opposed to a Grand Marquis. Just look at the way the headlight corner units swoop down, and how the tail lights are exactly the same as the Vic's. Other than the lights - the Vic and the Marquis are the same car.

The Marauder is a dissapointment to me personally - Ford is still using the anemic 4.6L instead of a beefed up 5.4L, but still, they're putting in the 32 valved version .

And, whats really bad - is that for the price of a base CrownVic price, with $3000 worth of mods, you can have a car that exceeds Marauder's performance. The Marauder is NOT going to be worth the money people pay for it, except as a collector item. As long as production numbers are kept low, this may happen. Currently, Impalla's are commanding HIGHER dollar values than what they were initially sold for... There goes the dream of owning THAT car .

Who could brag about owning a Chev? I'm building a 1981 Grand Marquis in the tradition of the 69 marauder x-100.:frog:

Marauder

The Marauder is car is the only performance oriented 32V V-8 four door sedan (American) out there that is within reach. The Cadillac Seville is way to much and FRONT WHEEL DRIVE (Wrong). I am buying one now and selling my 1997 Taurus SHO. The SHO was a great car (130K mostly painless miles) but damn ugly.

Looking forward to this black ride. Picking it up next week.

The only thing the Marauder need is, the 2003 4.6 Cobra engine together with some performance settings/adjustments from the Ligthning pick-up. JMO
