Saw new Xterra, not really impressed
Well I went to the Eastern Sports and Outdoors show in Harrisburg, PA yesterday, and they had the Yellow 05 xterra there. I liked the front end, but I did not like the way it looked, it looks a little unproportioned. The interior was kinda bare, its a nicer design inside than the 04's but still looked cheap. Maybe it was that it was not a higher end model, but i dont know. I just did not get as excited when I got in it, as when I saw it from 100 yards away. Oh well, I know it like 5 years when mine is paid off I may buy one but i have 5 years to start liking it.

I agree with you. When I saw it at the Outdoor Show, I was totally expecting something different. To see it on paper/web site is completely different than seeing it in person. Hopefully the higher end models will look a little more appealing.

I am waiting to get a new one. Dealer says won't get then till may. All I have to say is 265 horsepower even in the base model. Thats sweet. Its a little more expensive than last year but worth it.

I would have loved to have the rubber cargo compartment in my 2000. All the floors for that matter.

The Honda Element has the interior that the Xterra should have had all along...

I saw an 05 Xterra today for the first time. There's just something about it that I don't like, not sure if it's the box look it has now, or because it's bigger and also looks like the Armada.

I'm not a big fan of the new look either. I don't like the squared-off wheel well design or the 'cleaned up' door area.
I do like the interior materials and the new roof-basket design. I wonder if there is way to put the '05 roof basket thingy on a 200X? |

It just doesn't carry the sporty and aggressive looks that the later models such as the 01 - 03 had (02-03 had better looking headlights)
Although it packs a more powerful V-6 I's rather have an 03 Xterra S/C,seems more exciting to drive. 2002 Nissan Xterra s/c (Stock) sS..ILL..veR |

With the supercharger on it..it kickz AsS. The 05 has a decent look and still has its good looks. I like the acceleration on the 03 S/C version, they should've came out with an 05 one.

Yeah, the new one is a rocket when compared to the old one.

i also am not impressed with the new xterra. the body styling to me lookes alittle to much like the titan. a mid-sized SUV trying to look like a full sized one. a couple of things i do like , on the offroad one, is the hill break, looking rear end, they went to disks all the way around, and i believe they got rid of the natoriously bad steering system and went back to a rack, the bigger engine is also nice...but at the cost for an 05 xterra, i would just spring for the pathfinder
