abs/brake light no cruise
I've read through some of the other posts on here about the speed sensor going out on the rear diff. if your abs and brake light stay on. My problem is that the speedometer works fine and the abs/brake light doesn't come on until after 35-40 mph. when it comes on, the cruise won't work. I can turn it on, but can't set the speed or use accel. I don't have any braking problems or any other problems beside that. Does anyone have any ideas???

Re: abs/brake light no cruise
Being a 2000 it can be diagnosed with a scanner, so I would wait till the light comes on then have someone read the code(s). It will probably be a rear sensor but I would check the codes first.

I was thinking about doing that, but before I bought the vehicle it was doing the same thing in the test drive. The dealership said they fixed it but it is starting to worry me that it might be the rear diff. itself since it is coming up so soon again (bought it from a used car dealership). Does a dealership charge for looking at vehicles usually???

Re: abs/brake light no cruise
A typical dealer diagnosis charge will be around 70 dollars depending on where you live. Its a small amount concidering it will be a complete diag. They will tell you whats wrong and give you the option to fix it. I would really let the used car place know whats going on and tell them your going to take it to a dealer for diag, for the same thing they told you they fixed. They should reimburse for the repair.
