dodge code i d 's
I have 98 ram w/ 5.9 and auto trans . it seems to me that the trans is in too high of gear when I try to take off from a dead stop. today I took it too auto zone for a code reading ,it posted 3
P1282- excessive injection control pressure P1762 - overdrive band failed off p1763- they had no definition for this one I need some help to help me with these codes , and is it something I could fix my self w/ the right parts. |

ok I found more code definitions p1762 gov pressure
sensor offset volts too high or low p1763 gov pressure sensor too high. Can anybody help me with the fix. |

Thats a pretty common issue with 98 and 99 46re's. The govenor pressure sensor itself is usually the fault. Its not really that hard to replace but it depends on how much trans work scares you. The sensor isn't all that expensive and 300 bucks total should get you properly diagnosed and repaired at a dealer.

Yes, its attached to the govenor body in which is bolted to the valve body. It is replaceable without removing the valve body. It's basically a trans service plus 6 bolts and removal.
