05 park avenue heater core
Anybody familiar with removing the heater core 05 park avenue. I bypassed it today for the time being.
Can I just cut that rear heat duct that runs under the carpet and tape it together when I'm done, and then get the heater box cover out after that duct is outta the way? I'm hoping the core comes out without removing the dash? Thanks for any help |

Re: 05 park avenue heater core
For future reference since there is not allot of info using the search features of this forum.
Cut the rear heat duct right at the bend with a utility knife. That duct prevents you from getting to many of the screws when you're trying to get the heater box cover off. I will reposition and tape the duct instead of removing the console and seats to get the duct out. All 5.5mm bolts to remove the cover and a flex head 1/4 ratchet helps. One hidden 5.5mm bolt that's recessed on the driver's side that can be tricky. Hopefully she goes back together easier 😄 |

Re: 05 park avenue heater core
I've used a small spinner socket adapter to wrestle those obscured screws out of the plenum. Some leave very little roon to swing a ratchet or box wrench, and there is no hope of using a nut driver.
