new alfa 156 owner in need of help
Hi guys,
Just bought a 156 1.8 ts sport pack 3 last saturday 99 on a T plate, Im really pleased with the car a dam sight better than my astra 1.4!!! Its ran fine until today but after i started it and blipped the throttle the engine didnt go to idle and just died!!! I was unable to keep the engine alive without my foot to compensate for it not idling ( a pain in a 30 min traffic jam ). I tried it a couple of hours later and it was fine resting about 900rpm. Also the temp gauge gets upto 90 quite quickly but doesnt go above even sat in traffic ( is that the usual running temp on a 156??) It tends to be really sluggish at low revs (upto 2500-3000) then it really takes off. are these normal? and any sergestions on the idle problem would be a real help! Cheers fil |

Re: new alfa 156 owner in need of help
I had a similar problem with my 2.5 V6.
Reluctant to give power, strange peek at 5500 rpm, sometimes dying, all in all just not normal running. Eventually the get me home function came on everything was fine for a while then it just dyed all together. It turned out to be the Air Mass Meter, with that changed everything is perfect. Happy motoring. |
