Hi Christian,

I 'm working on a 24th scale M1 and must say the improvement you made is excellent.
If I could suggest something it would be to work on the engine side vents... the ones that are on the side of the engine hood (gills), they seem a bit big on your model.

Other than that, I must say it looks quite stunning and will look even better once finished!

What livery will it be ?

Re: BMW M 1 Procar in 1/12 scale

Hi,
thanks for your words!

The engine venty are already smaller made than the ones on the pics.Still work on it these days.

What livery?
The first one would be the factory bmw design with the three stripes. But the "Boss" livery is also very cool looking.
But this kit will be available with lots of different livery's when i start selling it for sure.

regards
Christian

Re: BMW M 1 Procar in 1/12 scale

I found several small pics where there appear to be no lines there, the entire lid would come up, like on the road car. See the pic at the link below. I don't see any lines there either. Pic 3 shows the rear deck being opened.

Re: BMW M 1 Procar in 1/12 scale

You guys are right.
There are no lines to see.
I only found one picture from the procar prototype car who was showed the first time in Hockenheim.
This car got no rear wing, but the car got these lines. There is a trunk under the hood and it can be open. This means that the lines are from the rear trunk.

But only one pic in all my library and my bmw m1 book from Jochen Nerpasch.

So i use some putty and close the lines.
Thanks!

Re: BMW M 1 Procar in 1/12 scale

i think the story with the fenders is modern historic racers need wider tires to
i don't know why.but have seen it with porsche rsr's to
a lot of pic's of M1 have the wider fenders
WIDE

NORMAL

Re: BMW M 1 Procar in 1/12 scale

Here again the bmw from all sides.

If there is any problem with the shape that i dont see so far, just let me know please!

Sometimes the biggest errors cant be seen from the person who works with it.

Christian

Re: BMW M 1 Procar in 1/12 scale

Somehow the wheels on the big and small arches (rear wheels) seem to be the same diameter and width. And that also leads me to believe that the arches might be just as wide on both cars, however, on the wide arches car they seem to start higher up hence they appear to be more massive or wider - which they aren't really. Just the gap between the panels starts earlier and thus the bolt-on arch strip is wider not necessarily extending the width of the car further than the regular bolt-on arches.
But that's just my opinion
