How to Turn Off Bluetooth in Toyota Sienna 2011

Our latest Toyota Sienna 2011 minivan has Bluetooth wireless that is putting out very high levels of electromagnetic fields (EMF's) which are causing us bad headaches and fatigue. We desire to disconnect the Bluetooth in our minivan.

Our local Toyota dealer has turned off the wireless key, but this did not alleviate the high EMF's in the vehicle. They want to disconnect the whole radio system and maybe the DVD player to turn off the Bluetooth, but they are not even sure this will work. Could you please let us know if this is correct? Does the whole radio system need to be unhooked as well as the DVD player in order for the Bluetooth to be shut off? Is there another way to only disconnect the Bluetooth and not the radio and DVD player?

We've already contacted the local Toyota dealership, Toyota Japan, Toyota US Headquarters, and Toyota US Executive, and no one in any of these places can tell us for sure if we have the whole radio system unhooked if this will turn off the Bluetooth and alleviate the high EMF's in our vehicle. We have no where else to turn. Could you please help us so that our family will stop getting headaches and fatigue in our minivan? Thank you very much.

How did you measure the EMF level inside your vehicle? Consult a physician. It is abnormal for car interiors to have a bad effect on people. It sounds to me more like an exhaust leak into the interior causing headaches and fatigue than some sort of radiation.

Re: How to Turn Off Bluetooth in Toyota Sienna 2011

Thanks for your reply and concern. We use the HF 35C High Frequency Analyzer. The readings were over 1,000 microwatts/meter squared which is well over the building biologist recommended levels of staying below 1 microwatt/meter squared. It is the same analyzer in this short video. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kL5E...re=em-comments

This person was easily able to disable his Bluetooth manually, but it seems that our Toyota model does not have this option.

No, it is not an exhaust leak. We are familiar with that smell which can also be troublesome like you mentioned. Thanks for that idea.

Exhaust gases are not necessarily odorous. However, I have no idea why this radiation is affecting you when there are so many others driving without notable effects as you describe. Maybe some people are more sensitive to this radiation than others. I use bluetooth devices a lot with no effect that I notice. I'm sure that you can determine when you have deactivated the bluetooth using the same device you detected it with before. Good luck.

Yes, some folks are way more sensitive to high EMF's than others. One of my children gets migraine headaches with nausea; while some do not seem to be as bothered by it. Thanks for your concern.
