Honda xl100s gas and oil

Can someone please tell me what kind of gas to use on my 83 xl100s? bronze, silver gold ect. Also does anyone know what type of oil is used on these dirtbikes? It's a 4stroke and I'm not really sure.

As for motor oil "Honda GN4" 4-stroke oil is good stuff.

Re: Honda xl100s gas and oil

If you cannot find that oil, just use a name brand 10w-30 oil, that is intended for cars.
If its really hot where you ride, use 10w-40.

Do not use the expensive synthetic oil, (unless its specifically intended for wet-clutch motorcycles). A lot of these synthetic oils will cause your clutch to slip

As for gas, use the gold (premium).
The gas mileage on the bike is excellent so the premium will not cost much more. However, air cooled engines can get hot and might cause damaging knock and ping on the regular, cheaper gas.

I was wondering now that winter is coming up would 10w30 be bad for the winter? Do some people use 20w50 in the winter or is 10w30 fine for all year round?
