Want to buy used mid-engine hard top

Many years ago I drove a 5 speed MR2 and just loved it. So I would like to buy a mid-engine roadster of some kind. There are a few caveats. First, I don't want a rag top, leaving out the newer MR2 Spyder and the Boxster. 2nd, I don't want to spend a vast fortune. An older (maybe even much older) car is fine. I've looked for old 1990s MR2s but they are few and far between. And many that are available have been hugely modified.

Any suggestions of other cars to look at?

Thanks!

Donald

You could always look at the pontiac fiero... if you feel like crashing and/or going up in flames.
